Tatiana Schlossberg, the granddaughter of the 35th U.S. president, passed away this week after a recent revelation of a rare leukemia diagnosis.

“Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts.”

Within a personal essay this past fall, she disclosed that she had been suffering from acute myeloid leukemia with a uncommon variant.

This form of cancer is a disease that originates in the blood and bone marrow.
